Karen Blixen Camp Overview

Karen Blixen Camp in the Maasai Mara offers an authentic ’yesteryear’ experience for visitors wishing to gain that little extra from their safari. Set on the bank of the Mara River, the location is spectacular, with the great Mara plains behind the camp and the impressive escarpment and Mara River in front. Throughout the day, zebras, elephants and hippos come to drink from the river.

Karen Blixen Camp has 22 large luxury canvas tents, 19 tents are placed along the riverbank, whilst 3 units are situated on raised platforms offering incredible views of the area. Each of the tents has private toilet and shower and is furnished with comfortable furniture for the ultimate camping luxury.

 

Food

Cosmopolitan food with clear notes from the Far East, India or Africa’s own traditional cooking is served Karen Blixen camp alongside a comprehensive selection of the continents finest wines.

Frederik Olesen, an internationally experienced chef inspires the chefs to the latest homemade cookery and gastronomic trends using lots of fresh herbs and flowers from the camps own organic garden.
