Serval Wildlife Overview

A wildlife sanctuary & luxury ecotourism resort offering an exclusive and unparalleled experience tucked away in the Siha district of Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. Our 1100 sqft / 110 m2 villas feature panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. Each villa has porches and seating areas for our rescued wildlife to come say hello! Our carefully curated ecosystem thrives through direct revegetation of over 5000 hand planted endemic flora; beneficial to our animals. Continually planting 200-500 trees on a monthly basis.

Our sanctuary is over 1000 acres, prepared in phases and in accordance with the needs of our animals 50 acres at a time. Animals are ethically obtained from zoos & injured animals from the wild with the aim of instilling natural behaviors and eventually rehabilitating them into the wild with the assistance of TAWA and TAWIRI. The animals that reside within our wildlife sanctuary are owned by the Tanzanian Government and often brought to us by TAWA as orphans or injured wildlife. We treat and train our animals to prepare them for release into their natural habitat within TANAPA protected parks. Our wildlife sanctuary also doubles as an endangered species reintroduction platform to translocate animals to parts of its natural range where populations have significantly declined or been lost. Aiming to establish a viable population within translocated areas. Our most recent animals for release are our lions. Brought to us from other zoos due to being rejected by their mother at a very young age. Upon arrival these animals were in poor condition, we have trained them and nursed them back to health. With assistance from TAWA these animals are being softly released from captivity into their natural habitat.

Wildlife interactions form a large proportion of all global tourist attractions, At Serval Wildlife we aim to provide outstanding memories but also to raise awareness of the challenges and threats that these species face in their natural habitats.

Our ecotourism lodge is environmentally friendly and working towards a carbon-neutral future. We ensure this by restoring biodiversity within our land through planting endemic species and solely rely on renewable energy sources to generate our electricity. Currently, all the facilities on our land are powered by solar power.
