Back to SummaryWe pick you up from your hotel and drive to Lake Manyara. The park derived its name from the Maasai word “manyara”, which is the Swahili name for the plant, Euphorbia tirucalli. The Maasai use this plant to grow livestock stockades, which matures to a highly durable stockproof hedge.
The Great Rift Valley is part of a fault in the earth’s crust which stretches 8,000 kilometers (4,971 miles) from Turkey to the mouth of the Zambezi River in Mozambique. The fault is so massive that when astronauts landed on the moon, the Rift Valley was clearly visible to them.
Our aim is to provide our guests with something different – simple homey comforts at a reasonable price. We’ve created a small sanctuary on the edge of Karatu town where safari travellers can take a break from the dusty roads and enjoy fresh country cuisine, a cool garden environment and stellar Tanzanian hospitality.

We start with an early morning game drive toward the Ngorongoro Crater. To see and experience animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, and various species of birds.
