Nkasa Rupara National Park is Namibia’s wetland jewel, featuring seasonal floods, rich birdlife, and dramatic safari scenery.

Nkasa Rupara National Park is Namibia's largest formally protected wetland area, a remote and water-rich wilderness in the Zambezi Region known for its significant wildlife migration corridor and large buffalo herds. The park, previously known as Mamili National Park, requires a 4x4 vehicle for access due to seasonal flooding and undeveloped roads.

• Location: Zambezi Region, Namibia, bordered by the Kwando and Linyanti rivers and Botswana to the west, south, and east.
• Ecosystem: Primarily a swamp and wetland area with a network of channels, reed beds, lagoons, and islands. It is often compared to a "mini Okavango Delta" when flooded.
• Wildlife Highlights: The park is home to Namibia's largest concentration of buffalo and is a crucial corridor for elephants moving between Angola, Botswana, Namibia, and Zambia. Other animals include hippos, crocodiles, lions, leopards, red lechwe, and over 430 bird species.
• Best Time to Visit: The Dry season (May to October) is ideal for wildlife viewing as roads are passable and conditions are less hot (except for October). The Wet season (November to April) can make up to 80% of the park inaccessible.
• Activities: Main activities include guided and self-guided game drives and boat excursions on the waterways (offered by some lodges).
• Facilities: The park has limited infrastructure, so visitors must be self-sufficient with water, food, and fuel. Camping is allowed at designated community-based campsites outside the park.
